“With the help of Bridger Valley's Operation RoundUp® program, you could save someone's life with just pennies.” - John Warren, Heart Transplant Patient
Bridger Valley Electric is helping enrich and even save lives within our service territory. It's all made possible by BVEA's Operation RoundUp® program. The small donations we gather from so many of our willing customers add up and allow us to pay our communities back in some really incredible ways.
Saving a Life In 2001, John Warren suffered his first heart attack at the age of 31. Congenital heart disease was sure to claim his life unless he received a new heart, but dental issues threatened to keep him off the transplant list. Because his insurance did not cover the dental surgery he needed, he came to BVEA to request funding from Operation RoundUp. "Bridger Valley Electric and the Operation RoundUp program came through just in the nick of time," says John's wife Shawna. "They really, really cared." When the dental surgery was completed, John was put on the transplant list and had the transplant a few months later. "I'm feeling better than I've felt in years," says John. "I'll be able to see my daughters graduate and get married."
Enriching Lives When funding issues threatened to keep the Bridger Valley Special Olympic Team from going to the Wyoming State Games, Operation RoundUp stepped in to help. Alex Bluemel, a swimmer for the team, says, "I was leaping for joy... I love putting in the hard work and I'm really happy Operation RoundUp was able to help." The funding the team received paid for their hotel rooms while they were at the competition. Alex qualified for the national competition and she is now the proud owner of two gold medals....all with the help of so many caring people who participate in the Operation RoundUp program through Bridger Valley Electric.
By helping worthy causes within our communities whenever we can, Bridger Valley Electric is showing the true meaning of being a Cooperative. "Concern for Community" is one of the principles we operate by. You too can join this worthy cause by opting to participate in the Operation RoundUp Program.
