Bridger Valley Electric Association your local electric cooperative headquartered in Mountain View Wyoming will be hiring an Apprentice Lineman.
Candidates must live within a 30-mile radius of our office in Urie, have a High School Diploma or equivalent, Electrical Lineman School, or training preferred but not required. Candidates will be required to pass a physical and drug screen. Candidates will be required to obtain a Class A CDL license within the first six months of employment.
Apprentice Lineman Overview
The Apprentice Lineman is an employee who is in training to become a Journeyman Lineman. As an Apprentice Lineman, you will assist the Journeyman Lineman to construct, maintain and repair coop high voltage transmission, and distribution lines, both overhead and underground while utilizing line trucks, aerial boom trucks, digger derricks, and excavation equipment.
An Apprentice Lineman will train for a Journeyman Lineman position through on-the-job training and textbook training.
Ability to lift in excess of 75 pounds with both hands, and pushing and pulling in excess of 100 pounds of exertion and force.
Job duties often require sustained work while climbing wood poles at heights of 80 feet in awkward positions including bending and twisting at the waist and neck; reaching forward, to the side, across the body, and overhead.
This job requires working in inclement weather.
Apprentice Lineman must be willing and available to respond to “after hours” emergencies and work when called upon. This is required and not optional.
Apprentice Lineman must be courteous and efficient when working with members of the public.
Apprentice Lineman salary range of $22.00 to $27.00 dollars per hour. Medical benefits, 401K, and Life Insurance included.
